We've been using the Superfan v1 Model from 2023, and it has been very comfortable, noiseless, and energy-efficient, with our electricity bill noticeably lower since we started using it. Unlike regular fans, which consume a lot of energy when used with a UPS, we don't face any such issues with the Superfan, which is why I can confidently say it's truly energy-efficient. The design is also fantastic and very practical.

Purchased 8 units of the 4' standard type DC fans and 1 Super Q fan from Superfan Coimbatore for my home back in 2015. Since then, I have recommended these DC fans to my relatives and friends. I can confidently say that these are excellent ceiling fans, providing good airflow with minimal noise, and contributing to energy conservation for both families and offices.
Mr. Subramaniam, Pollachi. (Superfan user since 2015)
Great product. The fan is just amazing. Don't go for the look, it's more beautiful than appears in product catalogue/profile photos. The fan is quite sturdy and runs silently except for the sound of air. Beautifully designed to suit your room or lobby wherever you use it. The multitude of colors available makes it more usable widely. The air flow capacity is no less than non bldc fans. Will write the detailed review after a month use.

Super fan amazing I purchased my superfan initially with a lot of hesitation. Now I am happy, very low current consumption and its saving me electricity. Speed of the fan is comparable to normal fans. Hence if you are interested to save electricity for better efficiency (only 35 watts at speed 5) then go for it. My intentions were to use the higher energy efficiency as well as to ensure my solar powered inverter lasts longer during power cuts.

I am an user of SUPERFAN BLDC for the last 2 years or more. I have four BLDC Superfans installed in my house. One of them I bought on 30.11.2024 vide Invoice No.5855.
The quality of the fan is extremely good. Sweep is wide. Noiseless running. Speed control with remote is additional advantage - especially when we are on bed. Current consumption is drastically minimised. EB bill is magically and gradually getting reduced even with more number of hours of usage of SUPERFANS.
Thanks to Super Fan Technology!

BLDC Fans by Superfan: India's First BLDC Ceiling Fan Brand
Superfan is an Indian brand that has made BLDC (brushless DC) ceiling fans since 2012. Its fans draw about 25–35W at top speed, include a remote, and carry a 5-year motor warranty, subject to product registration and warranty terms.
The range covers BLDC ceiling fans in sizes from 600 mm to 1500 mm. It also includes BLDC pedestal, wall, and table fans.
What Is a BLDC Fan?
A BLDC fan is a fan that runs on a brushless DC motor with an electronic controller. It replaces the AC induction motor and mechanical regulator used in conventional fans.
As a result, a BLDC fan converts more electricity into airflow and produces less heat. In addition, it works with a remote, so a wall regulator is not required.
- The motor runs on DC power supplied through electronics.
- Lower heat generation reduces stress on internal parts.
- Speed stays stable across a wide voltage range.
Superfan BLDC Fans at a Glance
The key facts about Superfan BLDC ceiling fans are listed below.
- Brand history: BLDC ceiling fans introduced in India in 2012.
- Power consumption: About 25–35W at top speed, depending on model and sweep.
- Input voltage range: About 90–300V.
- Controls: Remote on current models. Offline voice control and IoT on selected models.
- Sweep sizes: 600 mm, 900 mm, 1050 mm, 1200 mm, 1400 mm, and 1500 mm.
- Warranty: 5-year motor warranty, subject to registration and terms.
- Manufacturer: Versa Drives Private Limited, Coimbatore, India.
BLDC Fan vs Normal Fan
A BLDC fan generally uses less than half the power of a conventional induction fan. The gap matters most in homes where fans run for many hours every day.
- Power use: A Superfan BLDC fan uses about 25–35W. A normal induction fan uses about 55–80W.
- Speed control: A BLDC fan uses a remote with fine speed steps. A normal fan uses a mechanical regulator.
- Low-voltage behaviour: A BLDC fan holds speed across about 90–300V. A normal fan slows noticeably.
- Motor heat: A BLDC fan runs cooler. A normal fan generates more heat.
- Upfront price: A BLDC fan often costs more. A normal fan often costs less.
How Much Electricity Can a BLDC Fan Save?
Savings depend on wattage, speed, daily usage, and the local tariff. The formula is: units (kWh) = watts × hours ÷ 1,000.
For example, the comparison below assumes 10 hours of daily use and a tariff of ₹8 per unit. It is an illustration, not a guaranteed saving.
- 35W BLDC fan: 0.35 kWh per day, or about 10.5 kWh per month.
- 75W induction fan: 0.75 kWh per day, or about 22.5 kWh per month.
- Difference: 0.40 kWh per day, or about 12 kWh per month (roughly ₹96).
Over a year, that difference is roughly 144 units per fan. Homes with several fans see the gap multiply.
Superfan BLDC Ceiling Fan Range

Superfan also makes a BLDC pedestal fan, a BLDC wall fan, and a BLDC table fan on the Super Visiree platform.
High-Speed vs High-Flow BLDC Fans
High-speed fans rotate above roughly 350 RPM and push air down in a strong, fast stream. High-flow fans move a larger volume of air at lower speeds, which feels like a softer, wider breeze.
Therefore, the choice depends on the room. High-speed fans suit users who want a strong breeze. High-flow fans suit bedrooms and study rooms where lower noise matters.
How to Choose a BLDC Fan Size
Sweep size should match the room. A 1200 mm (48") fan suits rooms below about 144 sq ft. A 1400 mm (56") or larger fan suits bigger rooms and halls.
- Small room, false ceiling, or balcony: 600 mm or 900 mm.
- Bedroom or study room (below 144 sq ft): 1200 mm.
- Living room or hall (above 144 sq ft): 1400 mm or 1500 mm.
Ceiling height, furniture layout, and installation clearance also affect the result. Check the product page for model-specific guidance.
BLDC Fan Price in India
BLDC fan prices depend on the series, sweep size, finish, and features such as voice control or integrated lighting. Budget, entry-level, and premium models are all available.
Current prices and offers are listed on the BLDC ceiling fan collection. Superfan fans are also sold through Amazon and Flipkart, where seasonal offers may apply.
BLDC Fan FAQs
What is a BLDC fan?
A BLDC fan is a ceiling fan that runs on a brushless DC motor with an electronic controller. It replaces the AC induction motor and mechanical regulator found in conventional fans. As a result, it converts more electricity into airflow, produces less heat, and uses less power.
How much power does a Superfan BLDC fan use?
Superfan BLDC fans consume about 25–35W at top speed, depending on the model and sweep size. By comparison, older induction ceiling fans typically use 70–80W, and newer AC models use about 55W. Actual consumption varies with speed, so check the wattage listed on each product page.
Is a BLDC fan worth it?
A BLDC fan is worth considering when fans run many hours each day. Lower wattage reduces running costs over time, and the remote removes the need for a wall regulator. However, BLDC fans often cost more upfront than conventional fans, so the payback period depends on usage hours, speed, and the local electricity tariff.
Which Superfan model suits a bedroom?
The Super Q series suits bedrooms and study rooms. Its high-flow blade design moves a large volume of air at lower speeds, which keeps turbulence noise low. For smaller rooms, the 900 mm Super J1 is an option. Check the product page for current specifications and availability.
What warranty does Superfan offer?
Superfan offers a 5-year motor warranty on its BLDC ceiling fans. Coverage depends on product registration and the terms in the warranty policy. Therefore, register the fan after purchase and buy from authorised channels such as Superfan.in, Amazon, or Flipkart to keep the warranty valid.
Can a BLDC fan run on an inverter?
Yes. BLDC fans draw less current than conventional fans, so they place a lighter load on inverter batteries. Superfan BLDC fans also operate across a wide input range of about 90–300V, which helps them hold speed during voltage drops. Actual backup time depends on battery capacity and the number of fans connected.
